Who knows what we have missed
When no fingers told us to look
Or tongues told to listen
Without whip cracks and whistle calls
To wake us from our sleep, the
World has passed us by
Every second slipping past squanders
Our numbered heart beats
We aren’t invincible We will end
We need to be battered need
To be broken, and still overcome
A life worth living needs a fight
Bloody knuckles and bent noses
Show the face of a man with eyes
Who have seen
Won the right to point his own
Finger and tell with his own teeth
Look in the mirror you
Soft sightless tongueless coward
Just because your eyes are open
Doesn’t mean you’re awake
Nice, man, it's cool to see you've got a talent for writing poetry as well. Very powerful.
